Most advanced to expert Linux distributions consists in intricate, boring and unnecessary installing instructions that actually rival the humble snapd remove command. You talk shit about Ubuntu because you find it inmoral to type the remove snapd something command after install? I will talk shit on Fedora because of the mere existence of DNF, I will talk shit about Debian because of backports, kernel breakage and nvidia, I will talk shit about Arch Linux because... well I already do that even though there are no problems with it .
Ubuntu was made for humans.
Ubuntu is a commercial distribution, not your typical arch based linux distribution. You can EASILY delete the snapd service, you can EASILY replace them with BROKEN and unmaintained .debs
You don't have to keep using that old laptop from 2011! You can easily install Lubuntu! You can easily install Debian! Stop torturing your old laptop to run new things made for new devices!
Besides, you can try uninstalling "unnecessary" services from Ubuntu, isn't that what you guys already do regardless of distribution?
