Ubuntu is a commercial distribution, not your typical arch based linux distribution. You can EASILY delete the snapd service, you can EASILY replace them with BROKEN and unmaintained .debs
You don't have to keep using that old laptop from 2011! You can easily install Lubuntu! You can easily install Debian! Stop torturing your old laptop to run new things made for new devices!
